KUWAIT CITY, Mar 26: The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, conducted an inspection visit to the site of the fuel tank fire at Kuwait International Airport to assess the progress of firefighting operations and containment measures.
Upon arrival, Sheikh Fahd was received by the Chief of the General Fire Force, Major General Talal Mohammed Al-Roumi, who briefed him on the immediate response launched from the first moments of the incident and the coordinated efforts undertaken to bring the fire under control and prevent its spread to nearby facilities. Authorities confirmed that the incident resulted in material damage only, with no human injuries reported.
Sheikh Fahd praised the swift response and high level of readiness demonstrated by firefighting teams, highlighting their crucial role in protecting lives and property. He also commended the support provided by the Kuwaiti Army firefighting units, the National Guard, and the Kuwait Oil Company in managing the situation effectively.
The First Deputy stressed the importance of continued cooperation among all relevant authorities to enhance emergency preparedness and ensure rapid response to similar incidents in the future. He further called for strengthening preventive measures and improving coordination to maintain the highest safety standards at vital national facilities, particularly Kuwait International Airport.
