KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21, (Agencies): On Tuesday, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah recognized and commended several members of the General Administration for Combating Drugs and security agencies for their role in thwarting the smuggling attempt of half a ton of narcotic hashish into the country via the sea.

In a press statement, the Ministry's General Department of Security Relations and Media conveyed that Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Sabah extended the country's supreme political leadership's greetings to the honored individuals. He emphasized that their commendation is well-deserved for the significant effort they put into intercepting this large quantity of drugs, valued at approximately 1.5 million Kuwaiti dinars (equivalent to about 5 million US dollars).
According to the statement, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled expressed gratitude to God and the vigilance of the security personnel, highlighting that their actions successfully thwarted the smuggling attempt. He affirmed his confidence in the capabilities of the security establishment to combat evolving criminal methods related to drug smuggling and execute effective operations against illicit drug dealers. This, he noted, is only possible due to their vigilance and close collaboration with other relevant state agencies.
The recognition ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Anwar Al-Barjas, and several other security leaders.
