Officials from both the Interior and Commerce Ministries attend the launch of the electronic system, marking a key milestone in the nation’s move toward full digital governance.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: In a major step toward advancing digital governance, the Ministry of Interior — represented by the General Traffic Department’s Traffic Engineering Department — has launched a comprehensive system of electronic procedures for commercial activities related to the department. The initiative, carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, covers 61 activities, notably in the automotive, transportation, and heavy equipment sectors.

The launch falls within the framework of implementing the directives of the wise leadership to streamline government procedures and achieve full digital transformation across all sectors.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Marwa Al-Jaidan, the Assistant Director General of the General Traffic Department for Education and Coordination, Brigadier General Khaled Abdullah Al-Adwani, along with several specialists from both ministries.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the project represents a pivotal milestone in streamlining government services by reducing paperwork cycles and saving time and effort for citizens, residents, and business owners. Through an integrated electronic system, all procedures can now be completed and stored digitally, eliminating the need for paper documentation.

The Ministry emphasized that this initiative marks the true beginning of the government’s digital transformation in the traffic sector. It is expected to enhance the business environment, support the Smart Commercial License Project, and promote greater efficiency, transparency, and speed in delivering public services.
