Inspection Drive Begins Across Kuwait to Enforce Construction Rules

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: Kuwait Municipality has launched a series of field inspection campaigns across all six governorates to monitor construction activities and enforce building regulations, as part of a broader push to ensure compliance and curb violations.

In a statement carried by Kuwait News Agency, the municipality said the inspections will target a wide range of property types, including private residential homes, industrial facilities, commercial establishments, agricultural lands, investment properties, and craft-related sites.

Month-Long Monitoring Drive
The municipality confirmed that inspection teams will remain active throughout April, carrying out field visits using national workforce resources. The initiative aims to strengthen oversight on construction practices and ensure adherence to approved building codes and land-use regulations.

Violations Detected in Initial Campaign
The first inspection campaign, conducted on Monday in Al-Ahmadi Governorate by the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department, resulted in:

- 3 formal violations issued
- 15 warnings served

These actions were taken against private residential properties in the Al-Riqa area for breaching building regulations and engaging in unauthorized land use.

Officials said inspection teams carried out site visits to multiple locations where violations had been identified and took the necessary legal and administrative measures against offenders.

Expanded Campaigns Planned

The municipality emphasized that this initial operation marks the beginning of a broader enforcement effort. Additional inspection campaigns will be rolled out across all governorates in the coming weeks.

These field tours will be conducted based on a coordinated schedule prepared by the Public Relations Department, in collaboration with relevant municipal authorities, to ensure systematic and comprehensive coverage nationwide.

Ensuring Compliance and Urban Order
Authorities stressed that the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to maintain urban planning standards, protect public safety, and prevent misuse of land.

Residents and property owners have been urged to comply with building regulations and obtain proper approvals for any construction or modifications, as inspections are set to intensify across the country.
