KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10: An Iraqi fisherman who was injured by the Coast Guard patrol boat when the former pulled out a weapon to fire at the boat, was transported to a hospital by helicopter, reports Al-Rai daily.

The incident occurred when the fisherman entered Kuwait’s territorial waters in the north and disregarded commands from security personnel.

The Coast Guard patrol, stationed at Bubiyan Island, noticed the Iraqi cruiser crossing the border and instructed the captain to halt.

However, the captain failed to comply, prompting the patrol to fire warning shots according to established protocols.
