Maryana pointed out that “bilateral cooperation between the two countries encompasses multiple fields, with the energy, oil and gas sector emerging as one of the most important areas of cooperation, along with cooperation in the field of renewable energy.” She stated that Indonesia has enormous potential in this sector, estimated at 3,700 gigawatts, indicating only 15.2 gigawatts of which have been utilized till date. She confirmed the commitment of her country to encourage mutual investments between the two sides in priority sectors, such as energy and food, to support efforts to maintain energy and food security in both countries. She urged Kuwaiti investors to explore the vast opportunities in Indonesia, particularly in the agriculture, livestock, fisheries and tourism sectors, stressing that her country offers vital investment opportunities in manufacturing industries related to the fisheries, trade and services sectors. She also underscored the importance of strengthening cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries through student and teacher exchange infraprograms, as well as improving communication between people.

She pointed out that exploring all available capabilities and resources is the way to enhance bilateral cooperation. She touched on the humanitarian relations between the two peoples, stating that Kuwait, with its prominent economic status, has become home to diverse nationalities, including more than 6,000 Indonesians living and working in various sectors like health, oil and gas, hospitality and industry. She said the labor agreement signed between the two countries in 1996 contributed to regulating the presence of Indonesian workers in Kuwait and protecting their rights. She appreciated the efforts of the Kuwaiti government in providing protection and care for the Indonesian community.
She emphasized that the Indonesian government encourages its citizens residing in Kuwait to respect local laws and regulations, thus, enhancing cooperation and mutual respect between the two peoples. She added that this firm commitment is embodied in Indonesia’s foreign policy of supporting peace and humanitarian diplomacy. She also cited the participation of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in the Gaza Peace Summit held in Sharm El-Sheikh on Oct 13, 2025, affirming the enduring solidarity of Indonesia with the Palestinians. She called for lasting peace in Palestine, the region and the world.
