KUWAIT CITY, Jun 9: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving security situation in West Asia.

According to a statement from India’s Prime Minister’s Office, Modi expressed deep concern over rising regional tensions and reaffirmed India’s strong condemnation of attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Indian leader also reiterated the need for de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace and stability in the region at the earliest opportunity.

During the call, Modi thanked the Amir for his personal attention to the welfare and safety of the large Indian community residing in Kuwait.

The conversation comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region, with both leaders exchanging views on developments and regional security challenges.
