Indian Expats in Kuwait to Pay Higher Passport Service Fees From July 1

KUWAIT CITY, June 30: The Embassy of India in Kuwait announced that the Government of India amended the fees for issuing passports and related services, effective July 1, 2026, according to an official notice published in the Official Gazette on June 25. In a press statement, the embassy explained that the new fees apply to all types of passport issuance and renewal services, including ordinary passports, large-page passports, passport re-issuance and replacement of damaged or lost passports, in addition to several other consular services, such as emergency travel documents, criminal record certificates, and renunciation of citizenship certificates.

The embassy urged the Indian citizens to review the revised fee schedule, which is available on its website. The fee for issuing or renewing an ordinary 36-page passport for adults is increased from KD23 to KD38 and the fee for expedited issuance (Tatkaal) has increased from KD68 to KD76. The fee for a 60-page passport increased from KD31 to KD53 and the fee for expedited issuance increased from KD76 to KD91. The amended fees include the issuance of a replacement for lost or damaged passports. The fee for a replacement passport consisting of 36 pages increased from KD46 to KD76, while the expedited fee increased from KD91 to KD114.

The fee for the replacement of a passport consisting of 60 pages increased from KD53 to KD91, while the expedited fee increased from KD98 to KD129. The fee for issuing a new passport for children up to eight years old and for senior citizens increased from KD15 to KD26. The expedited fee for minors increased from KD61 to KD65. The fee for replacing a lost or damaged passport for this category increased from KD46 to KD65, while the expedited fee increased from KD91 to KD103. The fees for criminal record, passport- based birth, non-resident Indian, non-resident Indian status, no-objection, renunciation of citizenship and other passport-related consular certificates, as well as the global entry verification service, increased from KD8 to KD13. On the other hand, the fees for emergency and identity certificates remain at KD5 and KD16, respectively.
