KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: An Indian expatriate was arrested for stabbing an Afghan expatriate to death in Saad Al-Abdullah area over a financial dispute. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about a murder in front of a house in Saad Al-Abdullah area, securitymen rushed to the location to find the corpse of an Afghan expatriate on the ground.

Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah was present at the location along with the securitymen. Soon after, an Indian expatriate who worked with the victim in a sanitaryware business was arrested. During interrogations, the Indian suspect confessed that he told his colleague that he wanted to meet him in front of his house in Saad Al- Abdullah area.

A quarrel broke out between them over the pending payment of a loan of KD 3,000 that the Indian had earlier lent to the Afghan. The quarrel developed into a physical fight during which the Indian pulled out a knife and stabbed the Afghan many times.

While the suspect was trying to pull the corpse of the victim into his vehicle, the latter’s sponsor noticed him and immediately notified the concerned authorities. The suspect has been detained at Jahra Police Station for further investigations and the corpse of the victim was referred to the Forensics Department.
