KUWAIT CITY, July 6: The Indian Embassy in Kuwait announced on Monday that consular, passport and visa services will be limited to emergency cases only until Thursday, July 9, due to administrative reasons. In an announcement posted on the embassy’s official X account, the embassy said services would be restricted to urgent applications supported by documents proving the need for immediate processing. The services include expedited passport issuance (Tatkal), certificates for non-resident Indians (NRI), short-validity passports linked to expired civil ID cards, emergency certificates and electronic visas.

The embassy said that applications for regular passports, attestation services and standard visas would not be accepted or processed during this period. It also confirmed that all Indian consular application centers in Kuwait would stop receiving applications until further notice. Applicants were advised to visit the embassy’s consular section only between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., stressing that emergency cases would be considered only upon submission of supporting documents. The embassy added that further details would be announced in due course and urged all concerned to follow its official channels and social media accounts for updates. (KUNA)
