H.E. Paramita Tripathi, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: H.E. Paramita Tripathi, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, launched the India-Kuwait Media Connect (IKMC), a new platform aimed at strengthening engagement between the Embassy of India and Kuwait's media fraternity and promoting greater understanding of India-Kuwait relations.
The initiative, under the theme “Partnership, Perspectives and Possibilities,” was launched at a ceremony at The St. Regis Kuwait Hotel on September 30, 2026, in the presence of senior representatives of leading Kuwaiti media organisations.

Speaking at the launch, Tripathi said India and Kuwait share a relationship deeply rooted in history and enriched by strong people-to-people ties. She noted that the media in both countries has an important role in bringing the two societies closer by telling the stories that connect them.
She said the rapidly changing media landscape, where news travels across borders within seconds, makes credible journalism, context and meaningful engagement more important than ever. The IKMC will provide opportunities to explore stories related to business, innovation, culture, education, tourism, technology and other areas of mutual interest.
As part of the initiative, the Embassy plans to hold an informal monthly interaction with media members, preferably on the last working day of each month. The meetings will cover Embassy activities and initiatives, developments in India and India-Kuwait relations, India's diplomatic engagements, major policy initiatives and significant regional and global developments.
The Embassy will also issue a digital monthly India-Kuwait Media Connect newsletter, featuring key developments in India's growth and development, economic and business sectors, diplomatic and international engagements, as well as the Embassy's cultural, community, educational and outreach activities in Kuwait.
The newsletter will also provide information on upcoming events and initiatives at the Embassy and important events in India.
HE. Tripathi said the initiative represents the institutionalization of a continuing, constructive and positive conversation between the Embassy and the media fraternity. She invited media representatives to make IKMC their own platform to connect, exchange ideas, collaborate and highlight stories that bring the two countries and their peoples closer.
The Ambassador also unveiled the IKMC logo, formally marking the platform's launch.
Through the initiative, the Embassy seeks to strengthen professional ties with the Kuwaiti media, promote greater media-to-media linkages and facilitate authentic, informed and balanced coverage of India and India-Kuwait relations.

On AI and emerging technologies, Tripathi said India and Kuwait are already discussing potential areas of cooperation, although no formal roadmap or MoU covering AI technology transfer, sovereign AI models and cross-border digital public infrastructure was announced.
“The Joint Working Group on Science and Technology was held. So, this will be one of the ideas that we will be carrying forward,” she said, noting that AI and other emerging technologies are priority areas for both countries and the wider world.
Tripathi said discussions were taking place in line with the policy priorities of both countries, with India and Kuwait having their respective AI roadmaps, while Kuwait is also focusing on data centres and related policy issues.
“We are working towards it,” she said, adding that there is “definitely a lot of potential in emerging technologies including AI to have good collaboration between our two countries.”
The Embassy said it looks forward to developing IKMC as a constructive forum for Partnership, Perspectives and Possibilities, contributing to greater mutual understanding and further strengthening the close and enduring friendship between India and Kuwait.
