KUWAIT CITY, May 2: As part of the global initiative launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, titled "A Tree For Mother," the Embassy of India in Kuwait, in collaboration with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), will host a special environmental event on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Nature Reserve on the Subiya Expressway.
In a statement, the Indian Embassy stated that the event is designed to raise environmental awareness and inspire communities to plant trees in honor of mothers and their invaluable role in life. Participants will have the opportunity to plant a native sapling marked with a sign bearing their mother’s name, serving as a symbolic gesture of love and gratitude.
This event is part of a broader global movement that has already led to the planting of over 1.4 billion trees across India and other parts of the world, strengthening efforts to promote environmental sustainability and combat climate change.
The Embassy warmly invites both Kuwaiti citizens and expatriate communities to take part in this meaningful initiative that brings people together through the shared values of appreciation, giving, and environmental stewardship.
