KUWAIT CITY, Mar 5: The Embassy of India in Kuwait has issued a fresh advisory on 5 March 2026, urging all Indian nationals in the country to strictly follow safety guidelines amid the prevailing security situation and ongoing closure of Kuwaiti airspace.

According to the advisory, Indians have been asked to remain indoors and avoid going out unless necessary, rely only on official sources for updates, and refrain from any aerial photography or the use of drones. The embassy said it will continue to share information through its official website and social media platforms.

The mission has also operationalised a 24x7 emergency helpline for Indian nationals on +965 6550 1946, which is available on phone and WhatsApp, along with a dedicated email ID, [email protected], for queries and assistance. A similar contact arrangement had been publicised in earlier advisories issued after tensions escalated in the Gulf region in late February

The embassy clarified that it, along with the four Indian Consular Application Centres in Kuwait, continues to provide consular services, and advised the public to refer to its detailed notices on social media and the website for any procedural updates.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that all Class X examinations scheduled from 7th to 11th March 2026, as well as earlier exams set for 2nd, 5th, and 6th March 2026, are cancelled. The mode and schedule for result declaration will be communicated at a later date.

For Class XII, the exam scheduled on 7th March 2026 has been postponed, with revised dates to be announced soon. The board will review the situation on 7th March and provide directions regarding examinations scheduled from 9th March onwards.

All Class XII students are advised to stay in close contact with their schools and follow official announcements for further updates.

The advisory noted that Kuwaiti airspace has been temporarily closed since 28 February 2026, leading to suspension of regular scheduled flight operations, and said the mission is coordinating closely with Kuwaiti authorities to facilitate the safe exit of passengers stranded in transit through Kuwait, should they wish to leave. This follows earlier public statements by Indian and Kuwaiti authorities after Kuwait halted flights amid regional tensions.

Reiterating that the safety and well-being of Indians abroad remains a top priority, the Government of India said it is monitoring developments at the highest level. The embassy in Kuwait added that it is in close touch with Kuwaiti authorities, as well as Indian community leaders and associations in the country, to ensure the security and welfare of the large Indian community living there.
