KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: The Indian Embassy in Kuwait announced that the relevant authorities will only accept photographs that meet the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), for passport applications starting in September. The embassy pointed out that as per the ICAO guidelines, the photo must be in color, 630 x 810 pixels in size, must show the full face from the front, occupying around 80 to 85 percent of the area of the photo, against a white background that is free of shadows or reflections, the eyes must be open and clear without any light effects or ‘red eye’, and the mouth must neither be open nor tilted. It also prohibits photo editing using computer software, adding that head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons.
