Indian Embassy Condoles Death of Indian National in Kuwait Airport Attack; Defense Minister Visits Injured

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 3: The Embassy of India in Kuwait has expressed its deepest condolences over the tragic death of an Indian national following an attack on Kuwait International Airport earlier today. The Embassy said it is in close contact with the bereaved family and is coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities to provide all possible support and assistance to both the family of the deceased and those injured in the incident.

The Indian embassy in the statement stated

We condemn the attack on the Kuwait International Airport today in which an Indian national has died and several of our nationals are injured. Since the onset of the conflict in West Asia, we have strongly urged that civilian population and civilian infrastructure must not be targeted. We again call upon parties to cease such attacks.

We offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Our Embassy is extending all possible assistance to those injured. We remain in close contact with local authorities for the welfare of Indian nationals.

Indian Missions and Posts across the region are on alert and continue to proactively support our community.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali visited individuals injured in the targeting of civilian and vital facilities, including Kuwait International Airport, at dawn to check on their condition and review the medical care being provided. During the visit, he was briefed by medical teams on the patients’ health status and treatment progress, and he extended wishes for their speedy recovery. The visit was also attended by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Sheikh M. Hamoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Sabah.

Earlier, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, announced that hospitals received 63 cases of injury following the recent incidents, adding that 7 urgent major surgeries were carried out as part of the emergency response.
