Indian Driver Hits Egyptian Child on Scooter in Fintas, Father Charged With Neglect

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: A traffic accident in Fintas involving an Indian expatriate and an Egyptian child riding a scooter has led to a separate misdemeanor case against the child’s father over alleged neglect in the care of a minor.

According to a security source, public security officers referred the Egyptian expatriate father to the investigation authorities after the accident, in which an Indian expatriate driving a vehicle struck the child while he was riding a scooter. The incident was initially registered as a traffic accident involving the two parties.

A further investigation found that the scooter rider was a minor, born in 2014. Authorities subsequently opened a separate case against the child’s father on a charge of “neglect in the care of a minor,” keeping it separate from the original traffic accident case.

The case has been referred to the investigation authorities to complete the legal procedures and examine the parent’s responsibility in relation to the incident.
