KUWAIT CITY, Jan 3: As part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing security and monitoring efforts to safeguard public morals and uphold societal values, the General Department of Criminal Investigation—through the Farwaniya Governorate Investigation Department, in coordination with the Cybercrime Department—has taken action against individuals involved in activities deemed offensive to public decency.

Authorities identified a social media account that had circulated a video clip containing content in violation of public morals. The video showed a group of individuals from the Indian community inside a camp located in the Mutlaa area, where they were seen engaging in inappropriate conduct. The footage reportedly included behaviors such as cross-dressing and other practices considered offensive to societal norms and in clear breach of the laws and regulations in force in the country.

Following comprehensive investigations into the monitored account, security personnel were able to identify and apprehend the account holder. During questioning, the suspect admitted ownership of the account and confirmed that the individuals appearing in the video were present with him at the time the footage was recorded and subsequently posted online.

Further investigative and security measures led to the arrest of all individuals who appeared in the circulated clip. Legal action was taken against them in accordance with applicable laws, and the case has been referred to the competent authorities to complete the required legal procedures.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its firm commitment to continuously monitor and track any behaviors or practices on social media platforms that violate public morals. It stressed that strict legal measures will be taken against anyone found breaching the law, as part of its mandate to preserve societal values and ensure community security.
