Theft motive to clear debt pile

KUWAIT CITY, March 6: An unidentified Indian is said to have confessed to killing the Kuwaiti family – father 80 yr old , mother 50 yr old and their daughter 18 yrs old – in Al-Ardhiya, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily quoting the Forensic evidence proved that fingerprints and traces from the crime scene matched those of the killer, as well as DNA, which confirmed that he was the same person. Regarding the motives for the crime, according to what was reported by Al-Rai sources, the perpetrator said that what prompted him to commit the crime was the accumulation of debts on him, indicating that he broke the drawers in the father’s room in search of money.

This comes, while the Ministry of the Interior revealed the details of the crime, noting that by looking at the surveillance cameras of the houses adjacent to the place of the incident, it was found that an unidentified person entered the house of the victims, and by intensifying investigations, his identity was established and a tight ambush was set for him and was seized from Sulaibiya.

The sources stated that on the day of the incident, he went to the victims’ home to take a sum of money he demanded from them, and brought with him a bag of clothes with the intention of changing them, which confirms it was a premeditated murder. The Ministry of Interior indicated that the accused also stated that he searched the house after committing the crime and found 300 dinars and gold jewelry, which he stole and sold and found on his person the invoices for the sale of gold.

The sources confirmed a case of “premeditated murder” has been registered against him under No. 11 2022 and referred to the competent authority to take all legal measures against him.

Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, visited the Al-Ardiya Police Station, immediately after the arrest of the accused. Al-Rai sources said Al-Barjas reviewed the confessions of the accused and followed up with the detectives all investigations to refer the accused with the crime weapon to the Public Prosecution.
