Indian Cargo Vessel Sinks After Projectile Strike Near Yemeni Waters

NEW DELHI, Aug. 4: An Indian cargo vessel sank after being hit by a projectile near Yemeni waters, India’s Shipping Minister said on Tuesday.

The vessel, MSV Faize Noore Oliya, capsized and went down following the attack, but all 14 crew members aboard, including 13 Indian nationals, were safely rescued.

The sailors were rescued by the Yemeni Coast Guard and taken to the Port of Mokha, according to the minister.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about the source of the projectile or the circumstances surrounding the attack. Investigations are expected to determine the cause of the incident.
