KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) in Kuwait marked its 24th anniversary with a grand celebration held under the patronage of the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Khalifa Al-Ajil. The event brought together prominent business leaders, industry influencers, diplomats, and distinguished professionals from across Kuwait.
The ceremony, held last Wednesday, featured multiple award categories and keynote addresses from senior government and private-sector figures. India’s Ambassador-designate to Kuwait, Parmita Tripathi, attended as the chief guest, while HCLTech Global Chairwoman Roshni Nadar Malhotra participated as the guest of honour and keynote speaker. Abdullah Al-Harz, Director of the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, conveyed the minister’s congratulations on the occasion.
Vision and cooperationIn his opening remarks, IBPC Chairman Qaisar Shaker expressed appreciation for Kuwait’s leadership—His Highness the Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah—highlighting their strategic vision embodied in Kuwait Vision 2035. He noted that the plan’s seven pillars—including economic diversification, infrastructure development, renewable energy investment, youth empowerment, digital transformation, and strengthening the private sector—create significant opportunities for the Indian community to contribute expertise and investment toward Kuwait’s long-term prosperity.
Shaker added that India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is undergoing rapid transformation to become a global hub for innovation, education, medical tourism, and investment. He emphasized the potential for Kuwait to view India not only as a trade partner but as a comprehensive economic, cultural, and tourism gateway.
Shaker described the anniversary event as one of IBPC’s most important annual gatherings, serving as a platform to honour excellence, foster cooperation, and deepen interaction between the Indian community and Kuwait’s business ecosystem. Marking the Council’s silver year, he said IBPC has evolved from humble beginnings into a dynamic organisation that bridges Indian professionals and entrepreneurs with Kuwait, nurturing lasting partnerships and shared values.
“This celebration is not just about marking another year,” he said. “It is a moment to reflect on a 24-year journey shaped by friendship, collaboration, challenges, and achievements—all grounded in a shared purpose.”
Ambassador Tripathi also commended the Council’s pivotal role in strengthening bilateral trade and economic ties between India and Kuwait.
