KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: The Canadian College of Kuwait (CCK) had the distinct honour of welcoming Her Excellency Mrs. Paramita Tripathi, Ambassador of India to Kuwait, who graced the campus as Chief Guest for the official inauguration of the Indian Book Corner, a cultural and educational initiative celebrating India’s rich literary heritage.

Her Excellency was formally received by the College’s ownership, executive leadership, faculty members, and students, reflecting the deep and growing educational and cultural ties between India and Kuwait.

In her address, the Ambassador commended CCK for promoting multicultural learning and global academic engagement. She highlighted the importance of strengthening educational and cultural cooperation between the two nations and noted that initiatives such as the Indian Book Corner create meaningful platforms for dialogue, intellectual growth, and cross-cultural understanding.

During the same event, Her Excellency announced the launch of a new educational initiative that will invite students in Kuwait to visit the Indian Embassy as part of a structured civic and cultural engagement program. She confirmed that the initiative will begin with students from the Canadian College of Kuwait, offering them firsthand exposure to diplomacy, international relations, and public service.

The ceremony was further strengthened by the presence of a senior delegation from Vellore Institute of Technology, represented by Dr. Seenivasan, Director – International Relations, and Dr. Raghuram, Assistant Director – International Relations. On this occasion, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Canadian College of Kuwait and Vellore Institute of Technology was formally handed over to Her Excellency the Ambassador, marking the official acknowledgment of the academic partnership. The MoU aims to advance academic exchange, joint programs, innovation-led learning, and collaborative research initiatives.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Othman Ayman Boodai, Chairman of the Canadian College of Kuwait, stated:

“Think Global, Study Local is not a slogan for us—it is a system of preparing students in Kuwait for a world that rewards global thinking.”

Faculty members and students welcomed the dignitaries with great enthusiasm.

The event concluded with a shared resolve to build a future defined by global collaboration, academic innovation, and transformative opportunities for students.

The Canadian College of Kuwait reaffirmed its commitment to delivering globally relevant education while strengthening partnerships with internationally reputed institutions.
