INDIA, Oct 25, (Agencies): Renowned Malayali actor Vinayakan found himself in police custody on Tuesday following an incident where he created a disturbance while under the influence of alcohol at the Ernakulam North police station. Subsequently, Vinayakan was released on bail, as reported by officials at the Ernakulam North police station. He is now facing charges for causing a disturbance and using offensive language towards the police.

Reports indicate that the actor was inebriated during the incident. The case was initiated after an altercation with a police officer and the disruption of police station operations. It's worth noting that Vinayakan had initially summoned the police to his residence earlier in the day to help mediate a family dispute. However, when four police officers, including a female officer, arrived at his home, they were subjected to harassment.

Later in the evening, Vinayakan visited the North Police Station around 7 pm, where he was penalized for smoking in the police station yard. However, his behavior took a chaotic turn upon entering the police station. As he was being escorted from the station for a medical examination, he continued to exhibit disorderly conduct and disrespect towards the officers, with alcohol likely playing a significant role.

Charges have been filed under the bailable sections of the Kerala Police Act, and Vinayakan was subsequently released on bail at 10:30 pm.
