NEW DELHI, Mar 7: Households and businesses across India will feel the pinch as the price of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders has been increased, effective Saturday, March 7. The cost of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has risen by Rs 60 nationwide, according to sources cited by ANI.
In major cities, the new rates are:
- Delhi: Rs 853 → Rs 913
- Mumbai: Rs 852.50 → Rs 912.50
- Kolkata: Rs 879 → Rs 930
- Chennai: Rs 868.50 → Rs 928.50
For businesses, the hike is even steeper. The 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder will cost Rs 115 more, with prices in key cities revised as follows:
- Delhi: Rs 1,768.50 → Rs 1,883
- Mumbai: Rs 1,720.50 → Rs 1,835
- Kolkata: Rs 1,875.50 → Rs 1,990
- Chennai: Rs 1,929 → Rs 2,043.50
This marks the first significant adjustment in domestic LPG prices since April 2025, when the non-subsidised rate in Delhi was Rs 853.
The increase is expected to impact not only households but also commercial establishments such as hotels, restaurants, and other businesses that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations. Consumers and businesses are advised to plan their purchases accordingly in light of the new rates.
Authorities have confirmed that the revised rates are applicable immediately across the country.
