KUWAIT CITY, July 16: According to official data, Kuwait imported jewelry, precious stones and precious metals worth about KD 691 million in 2021. It has doubled the import by 135 percent on an annual basis, with a value of KD 397 million, compared to KD 294 million in 2020, reports Al-Anba daily. The data revealed that the volume of Kuwait’s imports of natural and cultured pearls, precious and semiprecious stones, precious metals, ordinary metals covered with a shell of precious metals, replica jewelry, and coins reached the highest level during the first three months of 2021 with value of KD 218 million.
In the second quarter of the same year, it amounted to KD 155.7 million, and it reached KD 159 million in the third quarter. In the last three months of the year 2021, imports of these products amounted to about KD 158 million.
