‘Illegal transfer file’ to Prosecution

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: The Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Eng Ali Al-Mousa has referred those responsible for the incident of ceding an agricultural possession of an area of one million square meters in the Abdali agricultural area in favor of a company, to the Public Prosecution, in the name of the Public Funds Protection Law, reports Al-Qabas daily. Final judicial rulings had been issued confiscating these properties and obligating the Authority to terminate the contractual relationship regarding this possession.

The referral was based on the violation by the authority’s officials of the judicial rulings and the legal procedures drawn up by the law establishing the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, and the regulation regulating the relationship between the authority and the holders of agricultural plots, where there is a reservation from the legal department of the authority on the measures taken, as well as the Ministry of Finance represented by the Department of State Property and the Kuwait Municipality.

Minister Al-Mousa had previously referred the report of the Public Funds Protection Committee No. 2 which was issued by the previous National Assembly to the Public Prosecution two weeks ago. These reform measures come to fight corruption and to protect and preserve public funds, since that no one is above the law.
