KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: The Supreme Council of Privatization has sent a letter to the Ministry of Public Works asking to identify the sectors that can be privatized and the reason behind that, reports Al- Jarida daily.

Sources in the ministry told the daily, it was currently considering responding to the letter of the Minister of State for Economic Affairs, the head of the Supreme Council for Privatization, and the possibility of allocating some facilities or excluding them from privatization plans. Sources pointed out that the Privatization Council is implementing its comprehensive plan to prepare the road map for the feasibility study of the allocation of state facilities in accordance with Law No. 37 of 2010 regarding the organization of privatization programs and processes and the proposed amendments thereto.

The Council’s letter has requested the ministry to provide additional information about its decision, to be presented to the Council of Ministers later, in addition to providing a statement on the services provided by each sector, the organizational structure, the number of employees by type of service, the percentage of Kuwaiti employees, description of assets and their value, future projects and strategic plans for each sector
