ICU cases fall below 50; 304 recover from coronavirus

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24 : Kuwait recorded 244 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours to up the total to 149017, while 2 deaths was reported with death toll from the outbreak is 926, the health ministry said.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 3,193, with 49 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry Spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad, adding that some 3,565 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,235,842 so far.

The ministry had earlier reported that some 304 people had recovered from the virus over the past day, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 144,898.

The spokesman went on to urge citizens and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. (KUNA)
