ICAO praises Kuwait for raising aviation safety standards
The ICAO commends Kuwait’s DGCA for boosting international aviation safety standards.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on Sunday commended the Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for its significant achievement in raising Kuwait’s international safety audit rating and compliance with global aviation safety standards.

Osman Kimo Manjing, head of the ICAO inspection team, praised the DGCA during a visit to Kuwait, highlighting the high level of technical expertise demonstrated by Kuwaiti inspectors, including engineers and pilots. He also acknowledged the support of Director General Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and all personnel working in the country’s aviation safety sector.

Acting Director General of the DGCA, Duaij Al-Otaibi, told KUNA that the safety team continues to operate at the highest standards to develop Kuwait’s civil aviation system. He lauded the efforts of all staff in the civil aviation sector, particularly in aviation safety and security, attributing the achievement to God and the support of the country’s political leadership.

Al-Otaibi expressed hope that ongoing efforts would further enhance preparedness, readiness, and implementation of safety and security standards at Kuwait International Airport.

The ICAO team leader honored Al-Otaibi and the safety team in recognition of their work in advancing civil aviation standards in Kuwait.
