KUWAIT CITY, June 18: In line with its vision to promote and develop badminton in Kuwait, the Indian Badminton Association – Kuwait (IBAK) conducted its Summer Smash tournament on 11 June and 12 June 2026, which attracted badminton players from various clubs in Kuwait.
The IBAK Summer Smash Badminton Tournament 2026 concluded on a high note, bringing together badminton enthusiasts from across the community for two days of exciting competitive play. Hosted at the IBAK Gym in Salwa, the tournament saw remarkable participation and sporting spirit, firmly establishing itself as a flagship event in the local badminton calendar. The IBAK Smash 2026 drew an impressive 177 players who competed across 7 categories, spanning all age groups and skill levels. Over the two-day event, a total of 198 matches were contested, ensuring a packed schedule of high-quality badminton from the opening rally to the final shuttle.
A defining feature of this year's tournament was its strong focus on youth development. Three of the seven categories were dedicated exclusively to junior players — Under 13 Doubles, Under 15 Doubles, and Under 17 Mixed Doubles — providing a competitive platform for the next generation of badminton talent in Kuwait.
IBAK Chairman, Dr. Manimara Chozhan, expressed his gratitude, saying, “The IBAK Summer Smash Tournament has been a wonderful celebration of badminton in our community. Seeing players compete with such passion and dedication across all age groups — especially our young players — has been truly inspiring. We are proud of the organisation, the level of competition, and the community spirit that made this event a resounding success.”
