KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: Abu Halifa detectives were searching for a young man and woman, suspected to be newlyweds, in connection with the theft of a luxurious yellow evening gown worth more than KD 850 from a high-end boutique in an upscale mall in Egaila. According to security sources, the boutique’s manager reported the incident to the police and provided surveillance footage showing the pair inside the store shortly before the theft was discovered. The footage showed the couple browsing the shop and examining the displayed garments for approximately half an hour.

The woman was then seen placing the yellow evening gown into a bag she was carrying after checking that it had no anti-theft security tag attached. The footage also showed her male companion approaching the store’s security sensors, apparently attempting to determine whether the gown could be taken out of the premises without triggering an alert. The theft was discovered later when a staff member noticed that the gown was missing.

A review of the surveillance footage enabled investigators to reconstruct the events inside the shop, trace the couple’s movements, and link their presence to the gown’s disappearance. The shop manager handed the footage over to the security authorities, and a theft case was registered. Detectives have launched an investigation to identify the young man and woman, determine their nationalities, and apprehend them. The sources confirmed that the surveillance footage is the key lead in uncovering the details of the incident.
