KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: The "Wayyak" Program for Combating All Negative and Behavioral Phenomena, represented by the Center for Promoting Moderation (Al-Wasatiya Center) at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, in cooperation with the Patients Helping Fund Society, organized the national awareness campaign "Wayyak … Fazaa of the People of Kuwait for Blood Donation" on Wednesday, Oct 7, at the ministry's theater.

The event saw wide participation from state institutions, private entities and civil society organizations, and was attended by hundreds of participants and donors.

The campaign aimed to promote a culture of blood donation, strengthen the values of giving, solidarity and social responsibility, and encourage humanitarian initiatives that help save lives and serve the community, reflecting the spirit of unity and cooperation that characterizes Kuwaiti society.

The event was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Eng. Suleiman Saleh Al-Suwailem, Director of the Center for Promoting Moderation Dr. Abdullah Al-Shuraika, and Head of the "Wayyak" Program Sharifa Al-Bazei, along with a number of officials and representatives of government and private entities and civil society organizations.

Taking part in the campaign were representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the General Administration of Coast Guard, Kuwait Fire Force (KFF), the Ministry of Information, the Kuwait National Guard, Kuwait University, and the private education sector represented by Al-Amal Joint School, among other participating entities.

The program included honoring the heroes of the Ministry of Defense in recognition of their national efforts, in the presence of Staff Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, and a number of Kuwait Army representatives.

The blood donation drive drew a strong response, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Director of the Center for Promoting Moderation among the first to donate, alongside the Defense Ministry heroes, ministry employees, representatives of the Interior Ministry and KFF, and other attendees.

The Interior Ministry was represented by Colonel Abdullah Al-Hajri, Assistant Director of the Public Relations Department, while KFF was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Hamed Waheed Al-Murshad, an officer in the Awareness and Guidance Section.

The participation embodied the true meaning of the Kuwaiti "fazaa" – the tradition of rushing to the aid of others – turning the call for blood donation into a tangible humanitarian act that helps save lives.

The program also featured a panel discussion titled "Wayyak … Fazaa of the People of Kuwait," which addressed the importance of social responsibility, national solidarity and the role of humanitarian initiatives in promoting a culture of giving and community service.

The session was moderated by Dr. Bassam Al-Jazzaf, a television and radio trainer and media consultant, with the participation of Dr. Abdullah Al-Shuraika, Director of the Center for Promoting Moderation and Secretary of the Higher Committee for Promoting Moderation, and Dr. Ahmed Abdulmalik, Consultant Pediatrician at Al-Ahmadi Hospital.

The program also included a welcome speech by Salman Al-Jenfawi, a poem by poet Abdullah Al-Fayez, a speech by Mishal Al-Mawla, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Patients Helping Fund Society, and a speech by Sharifa Al-Bazei, Head of the "Wayyak" Program.

Also participating in the event was Jarrah Al-Qazzaz, international journalist, Director of Public Relations at the Kuwaiti Media Professionals Association, and media consultant for human rights.

The event was accompanied by information booths for the participating entities, as well as a dedicated "Wayyak" booth introducing the program's mission, objectives and initiatives in addressing negative and behavioral phenomena, communicating directly with the public, and distributing awareness materials and gifts.

The broad participation confirmed that awareness and humanitarian work, when built on partnership and integration between state institutions and civil society, produces a tangible impact that reinforces positive values and serves the community.

The campaign concluded with an honoring ceremony amid a national and humanitarian atmosphere, affirming that blood donation is not merely a humanitarian initiative, but a social value reflecting a sense of responsibility, belonging and concern for human life.

The "Wayyak … Fazaa of the People of Kuwait" campaign serves as a model of community work that brings together state institutions and members of society around a shared humanitarian goal, affirming that giving, when turned into action, becomes loyalty to the nation and service to humanity.
