KUWAIT CITY, July 13: The Department of Computer Science in the College of Science at Kuwait University concluded the Kuwait National Game Programming Competition, with the participation of 267 students from various educational institutions in the country, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The championship was held in collaboration with the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), Kuwait E-Sports Club, and several other supporting organizations, with the aim of developing digital skills and fostering innovation in programming and electronic game development. Acting Dean of the College of Science Prof. Haider Sayed Jawad Behbehani affirmed that the championship embodies the vision of the university to support applied education, aligning its outcomes with the needs of the digital economy, and strengthening partnerships with government institutions and the private sector. He commended the efforts of the Department of Computer Science and the sponsoring and supporting entities in ensuring the success of the championship.
Meanwhile, Dr. Maha Al-Abduljalil, Academic and Executive Director of the championship and a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science, stated that the championship transformed the concept into a practical platform for discovering and developing talent. She added that strategic partnerships contributed to training and qualifying the participants of various ages in the field of electronic game programming. The competition concluded with an awarding ceremony to honor the winning teams, participants, sponsors, supporters and organizers. The ‘Alientrix’ project by participant Sulaiman Al-Mansouri won first place, the ‘Dungeon the Escape’ project by participant Mishari Al-Abd Al-Hadi took the second place, and the Kuwait University Team got the third place with their ‘Trust Us’ project.
