KUWAIT CITY, Feb 2: A house fire in Al-Rawda on Monday revealed an unauthorized bachelor accommodation housing over 50 people, prompting the Ministry of Interior to emphasize the importance of citizen cooperation in maintaining the security and safety of residential areas.
The Ministry, in a statement posted on its official X platform, highlighted that reporting houses suspected of being used as bachelor or worker housing through local police stations is a shared societal responsibility. Such reports enable authorities to monitor violations and take necessary action in accordance with laws and regulations, ensuring the public interest is protected.
The ministry clarified that using homes in residential areas for bachelor or worker housing violates regulations due to potential negative impacts on public safety and the residential environment. Citizens are urged to comply with the rules governing such properties.
In response to the Al-Rawda fire, authorities referred the landlord to the competent authorities and summoned the homeowner, completing all necessary legal procedures against both parties.
The Ministry of Interior renewed its call for enhanced community cooperation, encouraging residents to report similar violations through local police stations or by contacting Public Security Operations at 96643983, stressing that such efforts support preventive measures, strengthen community partnership, and safeguard residential areas.
