KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: Kuwait is expected to witness hot daytime temperatures and warm nights over the weekend, the Meteorological Department (MD) said Thursday.

Director of the Meteorological Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told KUNA that the country continues to be influenced by an extension of the Indian monsoon depression, bringing a hot and humid air mass, particularly over coastal areas, accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly to variable winds.

Al-Ali said Thursday’s weather will be hot and humid, especially along the coast, with variable winds ranging from 6 to 28 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures are expected between 42 and 44 degrees Celsius, while the sea will be light to moderate, with waves between 1 and 3 feet.

Tonight, temperatures will remain hot to moderate and humid, with southeasterly to variable winds at 6–28 km/h. Minimum temperatures are expected between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius, and the sea will remain light to moderate with waves between 1 and 3 feet.

For Friday, Al-Ali forecast hot and relatively humid conditions with southeasterly variable winds at 6–32 km/h. Daytime highs are expected between 42 and 44 degrees Celsius, and the sea will be light to moderate with waves between 1 and 4 feet. Nighttime temperatures will range from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, with northwesterly variable winds at 6–30 km/h and similar sea conditions.

Saturday is expected to be relatively hot and humid in coastal areas, with northwesterly to variable winds between 8 and 32 km/h. Maximum temperatures are forecast between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius, with seas light to moderate and waves between 1 and 4 feet. Saturday evening temperatures will be hot, ranging from 28 to 30 degrees Celsius, with northwesterly winds at 10–32 km/h and seas remaining light to moderate with 1–4 foot waves.

Al-Ali emphasized that coastal regions will experience higher humidity due to the prevailing hot air mass, and residents should take necessary precautions during the peak heat hours.
