Kuwait Meteorology warns of hot, dusty weather and strong winds over the weekend.

KUWAIT CITY, June 19: Acting Director of the Kuwait Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, forecasted on Thursday that the weekend weather will be hot and dusty during the day, with temperatures remaining hot to warm at night, though slightly cooler compared to last week.

Al-Ali explained that Kuwait is currently influenced by an extension of the Indian monsoon depression, bringing a hot, dry air mass accompanied by active to strong northwesterly winds during the daytime. These winds, reaching speeds of over 60 kilometers per hour, are expected to cause dust storms.

Thursday morning's weather was described as hot and dusty with moderate to strong northwesterly winds blowing between 20 and 65 kilometers per hour. Temperatures were expected to peak between 42 and 44 degrees Celsius. The sea state was forecast to be moderate to high, with waves ranging from three to seven feet.

In the evening, conditions will remain hot with dust gradually settling. Winds will ease to light or moderate speeds of 15 to 42 kilometers per hour, occasionally stronger near coastal areas. Nighttime temperatures are expected to fall to between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, with the sea remaining light to moderate and waves from two to six feet.

Friday’s weather will continue to be hot, with northwesterly winds ranging from 15 to 50 kilometers per hour, occasionally becoming active and causing dust. Maximum temperatures are forecast between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius. The sea will be light to moderate, with waves of two to six feet.

Friday evening is expected to be hot, with winds between 15 and 38 kilometers per hour and temperatures dropping to 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. Sea waves will remain light to moderate, ranging from two to five feet.

Saturday will see very hot conditions with light to moderate northwesterly winds of 15 to 45 kilometers per hour, sometimes active and causing dust in open areas. Temperatures are predicted to rise between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius. The sea state will remain light to moderate with waves from two to five feet.

Saturday evening will stay hot, with winds easing to 12 to 35 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are expected between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius, and sea conditions will remain light to moderate with waves of two to five feet.
