Hoax info traps Egyptian

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: Director General of Criminal Investigation Department Major General Mohammad Al-Sharhan ordered detectives to charge an Egyptian expatriate for hoax information and fraudulent act that constituted nuisance to security authorities by feigning the loss of KD 2,100, reports Al-Anba daily.

The suspect employed as a revenue officer lodged a complaint at Qurain Police Station claiming a hoodlum armed with a razor blade had robbed him of KD 2,100, which happened to be proceeds from a café joint business. He supported the claim with medical report.

Meanwhile, the policemen paraded a group of people for identification when they noticed the complainant wasn’t sincere about the claim. He then identified two people among them. Subsequently, the police became more thorough in questioning him until he confessed devising the idea after sending the sum home to solve a family problem.
