CAIRO, Oct 16: Kuwait’s Embassy in Cairo on Thursday emphasized the deep ties between Kuwait and Egypt, united by a shared destiny and tested through wars and hard times.
The remark came from Embassy Counselor Nawaf Al‑Rujaib as he led a delegation to the Suez War Memorial Cemetery, paying respects at the graves of Kuwait’s fallen soldiers in commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of the October 1973 victories.
Al‑Rujaib said the visit honored the sacrifices of those who shed their blood defending rights and sovereignty, pointing out Kuwait’s significant military and economic contributions during that period. He paid special tribute to Kuwaiti Army martyrs who fought on the Egyptian front, reiterating Kuwait’s enduring solidarity with Arab states and its consistent support for pan‑Arab causes.
He also commended Egypt for its role in promoting regional and international peace and stability, and for maintaining the cemeteries of Arab martyrs with respect and dignity.
The delegation was received by Major General Adel Al‑Ghuwait, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Third Army. It included Counselor Al‑Rujaib and Brigadier General Ayed Al‑Hilfi, Kuwait’s Deputy Military Attaché.
