KUWAIT, Feb 11, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani through a cable, expressing genuine joy over Qatar’s triumph in the Asian Cup (AFC) Qatar 2023 final.
In his message, His Highness the Amir commended the exemplary sportsmanship exhibited by all participating teams and praised the outstanding performance of the Qatari team, which ultimately led to their success in the tournament. His Highness the Amir emphasized that winning such a prestigious event is a significant accomplishment for Gulf and Arab football, underscoring the elevated standard of sportsmanship achieved.
His Highness the Amir also expressed immense pleasure for the outstanding success of the tournament hosted by Qatar from January 12th to February 10th. His cable acknowledged that this achievement mirrors the advanced status of the sisterly State of Qatar and reflects the comprehensive development and progress the Arabian Gulf state has achieved across various domains under the sagacious leadership of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad. His Highness the Amir wished enduring well-being, progress, and prosperity to Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim, his Father Sheikh Hamad, and the entire Qatari Royal Family.
Furthermore, His Highness the Amir extended congratulations to Jordan’s King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein in a separate cable, expressing sincere felicitations on Jordan’s team securing the second position in the AFC Qatar 2023 final. His message acknowledged the high sportsmanship demonstrated by all teams and praised Jordan’s exceptional performance, considering their achievement as a historic milestone in Jordanian soccer. His Highness wished King Abdullah II well-being and further progress and prosperity for Jordan under his wise leadership.
Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah also sent a cable of congratulations to Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, expressing joy for the victory of the Qatari football team. Additionally, he conveyed congratulations to Jordan’s King for Jordan’s team securing the runner-up position.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ahmad Al-Saadoun, extended congratulatory cables to lawmakers in Qatar and Jordan for their achievements in the AFC Football Cup 2023.
