His Highness Amir grants amnesty to indicted Kuwaitis

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah decided, using his constitutional right, to grant amnesty to the indicted sons of Kuwait, the Cabinet announced on Sunday. Pursuant to the Sovereign instructions, the Cabinet approved the necessary draft decrees, which will be tendered to His Highness the Amir for final endorsement under Article 75 of the Constitution, according to a statement released by the Cabinet following its extraordinary session.

The session was convened in the light of the Sovereign instructions to conduct a dialogue between the legislative and executive authorities, enhance cooperation, and pool their efforts and resources to serve the interests of the homeland and the citizens. The session falls in the framework of His Highness the Amir’s instructions to the heads of the legislative and executive authorities and the Supreme Judiciary Council to suggest the conditions and controls necessary for the amnesty, the statement added.
