KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The Ministry of Education has started following up procedures for teachers hired from Palestine with the competent authorities in preparation for their entry into the country upon completion of these procedures – whether in Kuwait or in Palestine, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources from the educational sector. Sources told the daily that the educational delegation tasked to hire teachers in Palestine received approximately 985 who fulfilled the conditions out of 3,000 applicants.

Sources affirmed that 500 teachers, who passed the interviews and tests, were chosen as per the specializations that the ministry needs. Sources said one applicant turned down the offer, reducing the number to 499 teachers; stressing these were selected in accordance with the rules and regulations and in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education, which determined the accredited universities whose graduates are allowed to sign employment contracts with the ministry. Sources added graduates from Israeli and unaccredited universities were excluded from the recruitment process.
