KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9: The Highway Patrol Department launched a surprise traffic enforcement campaign on Sunday, covering main roads and residential areas, authorities reported. The operation resulted in 3,288 traffic violations, including 88 for using mobile phones while driving, 33 for seatbelt violations, 4 for speeding, 23 for tinted windows, and 292 violations involving trucks, buses, and mobile phone use.
A security source added that 20 wanted individuals were apprehended, including 15 citizens. During the campaign, eight violators were referred to the traffic police station for serious offenses, five of whom were citizens. Two foreign nationals—an Egyptian and an Indian—are being deported for using their vehicles to transport passengers illegally.
