His Highness the Amir congratulates Kuwaiti shooters on winning gold – Minister Al-Roudhan boasts of junior shooters

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has addressed a cable of congratulations to the shooting champion Abdulrahman Al-Faihan for winning gold medals in the individual, dual and triple’s categories in the Asian Shooting Tournament, recently hosted by Kazakhstan.

His Highness the Amir also sent felicitation cables to Mansour Al-Rashidi for winning a gold medal in the tripartite teams’ contest, Khaled Al-Mudhaf for earning a gold one in the same group, Sara Al-Hawall for winning the same medal in the dual, Talal Al-Rrashidi for bagging it in the individuals in addition to winning the gold medal in the two tripartite teams.

He also sent such a cable to Abdulaziz Al-Saad for winning the gold medal in the tripartite group.

His Highness the Amir expressed deep congratulations for earning the top medals in this Asian tournament, expressing wishes the champions would make more sports accomplishments to raise the dear homeland banner at regional and international athletic quarters.

For their parts, His Highnesses the Crown Prince and His Highness Prime Minister, respectively Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, sent identical cables to the excelling athletes.

Meanwhile, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan on Tuesday expressed pride that Kuwaiti junior shooters ranked second in the Kazakhstan-hosted Asian tournament. Minister Al-Roudhan, in a statement after receiving the Kuwaiti team at Kuwait International Airport, vowed that he would spare no effort to back the Kuwaiti shooting teams.

He called for organizing special programs and training camps to sharpen the young athletes’ skills.

The minister relayed greetings by the supreme political leadership to the champions, affirming the leaders’ determination to ensure that Kuwait be well represented at international events.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Kuwaiti and Arab shooting federations pledged in a statement to do more for making additional accomplishments and victories.

Champions Sara Al-Hawal and Talal Al-Tarqi said they were elated for planned representation of Kuwait at the international shooting tournament, due in Moscow, in the end of August.

The Kuwaiti team, in the trap category, won the gold medal, along with two silver ones. It also won the gold medal at team’s level. The team also won the gold ones in the trap mix and skeet competitions.
