Warning For 175,000 Kuwaitis And 800K Expats Over Incomplete Biometrics

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 4: Brigadier Nayef Al-Mutairi, Director of the Personality Investigation and Automated Search Department at the General Department of Criminal Evidence, stated that both Kuwaitis and expats have processed biometric fingerprinting. He noted that nearly 800,000 Kuwaiti citizens have already completed the process, with approximately 175,000 remaining. For expats, around 1,860,000 have undergone fingerprinting, leaving about 800,000 still to be processed.

Addressing the needs of people with special needs and bedridden individuals, Al-Mutairi mentioned that nearly 1,000 cases have been handled so far. He further stated in a statement on Al-Akhbar TV channel that the department recently acquired 11 specialized devices to take fingerprints from bedridden individuals, people with special needs, and hospital patients who have difficulty reaching the relevant departments. The goal is to provide every possible assistance to facilitate the process for these groups and remove any obstacles they face.

Al-Mutairi also reminded Kuwaiti citizens that the final deadline for undergoing biometric fingerprinting is September 30, while expats have until December 31. He emphasized that all transactions will be suspended for those who do not complete the fingerprinting process by the respective deadlines.
