High-stakes action as International show jumping Championship kicks off

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: At 1:30 pm today, the Marina Beach will come alive with the commencement of the “The Stadium” International Show Jumping Championship, proudly sponsored by Kuwait International Bank and meticulously organized by the seasoned event management firm, “SAFEX.”

Dr. Yahya Al-Hadban, a distinguished Kuwaiti international referee, emphasized the significance of this three-star tournament in the current season. This event serves as a qualifying platform for the World Cup and boasts participation from referees hailing from Europe, the Gulf countries, and Kuwait.

The championship unfolds across nine rounds, with particular anticipation surrounding the Grand Prix round, set at an impressive height of 150 cm. Dr. Al-Hadban extended his best wishes for success to all participants and expressed gratitude for the substantial contributions from the private sector, notably acknowledging “SAFEX” for its commendable efforts in organizing the event. The previous edition, held just two weeks ago, saw international jockey Ali Al-Kharafi emerge victorious.

Today’s schedule includes three runs at heights of 115 cm, 130 cm, and 140 cm. The competition will continue tomorrow with runs set at heights of 120 cm, 130 cm, and 145 cm. The championship will culminate on Saturday with the final runs at heights of 120 cm, 135 cm, and the challenging 150 cm.
