KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: His Highness the Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s Shooting Championship came to a close with honoring of the male and female winners.

The closing ceremony was attended by the representative of the championship’s sponsor, the Governor of Al-Asimah Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Director-General of the Public Authority for Sports Affairs Dr Saqr Al-Mulla, and Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Shooting Club as well as a number of families of the shooters.

Duaij Al-Otaibi, head of the Kuwaiti Shooting Club (KSC), said the tournament included about 300 male and female shooters from the Kuwaiti National Guard, the Military Sports Federation and Sports Police Union, in addition to the KSC.

The Kuwaiti shooting has made several accomplishments topping with the qualifications of four shooters for the next Olympics Games to be held in Tokyo next year, thanks to the big support of the political leadership, he added. Shooters Saud Habib won the Skeet contest title, Abdel Rahman Al-Faihan came first in the Trap competition, Abdullah Al-Harbi snatched the 50m rifl e game and Hassan Abdulaziz got the 25m rapid fire pistol competition. Abdullah Al-Harbi won also 10m air rifl e game and Saad Man’e got the 10m air pistol contest. Female shooters Eman Al-Shamma’ won the Skeet game, Sara Al- Hawwal had the Trap competition, Hessah Al-Zayed snatched the 10m air rifl e contest and Hozama Al-Boghali got 10m air pistol game. (KUNA)
