HH Crown Prince Karate Champ’ship concludes

KUWAIT CITY, May 9: The 23rd HH the Crown Prince Karate Championship concluded Monday at the Salmiya Sports Club Hall.

Present at the closing ceremony were Hawally Governor Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad who represented HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, as well as Board Chairman of Kuwait Karate Federation Sheikh Khaled Al-Abdallah.

The championship started in the latter part of April with several competitions in kata and kumite. The participating clubs showed a high level of performance that enabled them to achieve top and runners-up positions.

The closing ceremony consisted of the final round in individual kata between Khaitan and Salmiya clubs, as well as the final round in combat between the two clubs.

Sponsor of the championship HH the Crown Prince and Director General of the Public Authority for Sports Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour were honored during the ceremony.

This is in addition to crowning the winner of the late Yusuf Al-Harbi Cup for the best player in 2015/2016 season, the team that emerged as champion and the winner of the shield of excellence.
