WASHINGTON, Nov 18, (Agencies): Hiroshi Morie, the esteemed bassist of X Japan, known by his stage name Heath, passed away on Oct 29 at the age of 55. The rock band confirmed in a statement that Heath succumbed to colorectal cancer, a diagnosis made following a medical examination in June.

Despite Heath’s determined efforts to combat the disease, his health took a sudden downturn in October, leading to his final moments in the hospital. The band expressed their gratitude to those who cherished Heath throughout his lifetime, acknowledging the profound impact he had on both the group and their fans.

While each member of X Japan has privately said their goodbyes to Heath, the statement conveyed their collective deep sorrow over his abrupt departure. The band announced that Heath’s funeral would be a private affair, exclusively for immediate family members, and requested that any visits, donations, or flowers be refrained from. A formal farewell ceremony, led by frontman Yoshiki, is anticipated to be organized at a later date to pay tribute to the late bassist.
