KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, on Thursday launched the first phase of the Healthy Recipes and Nutritional Values Guide 2025, aiming to enhance the quality and governance of food services at hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The initiative forms part of the Ministry of Health’s strategy to strengthen governance and comprehensive quality in nutrition services across healthcare institutions, a statement from the Ministry said.
Prepared and implemented by the Nutrition and Food Department within the Ministry’s Public Health Sector, the guide seeks to unify practices and standards in hospital food services. It is designed to improve meal quality for patients while ensuring the highest standards of food safety.
The guide features nutritionally balanced recipes developed by clinical nutrition specialists. Each recipe includes detailed labels showing nutritional information, calories, and the physical activity required to burn them, promoting healthy eating habits alongside an active lifestyle.
In a move to make nutrition guidance more practical, each recipe also includes a QR code linking to a video demonstration of meal preparation and cooking, enhancing the dissemination of nutritional knowledge in an interactive format.
The Ministry highlighted that this guide represents a significant step in developing nutrition services at healthcare facilities and aligns with national quality of life initiatives.
