KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi inaugurated a new surgical wing at Amiri Hospital on Wednesday, part of the ministry’s ongoing strategy to renovate wards and enhance medical services for patients.

In a statement to the press, Dr. Al-Awadhi said the new wing is the second to open at Amiri Hospital in two weeks following renovations. Together, the two wings offer a total of 60 beds, including 20 private rooms and 40 general rooms, along with dedicated spaces for pharmacies, doctors, nurses, and administrative offices. The facilities have been equipped with the latest medical technologies to provide advanced care.

Dr. Al-Awadhi highlighted that the Ministry of Health’s 2026 plan focuses on developing healthcare services across Kuwait, including the northern and southern regions and the capital, and aims to attract visiting doctors to further strengthen patient care.

He also praised Kuwait’s national medical staff, noting their expertise in robotic and complex surgeries, organ and kidney transplants, and open-heart procedures, which have reached international standards and contributed to medical achievements abroad.

The first renovated surgical wing at Amiri Hospital opened last week, and the addition of this second wing underscores the ministry’s commitment to offering comprehensive and advanced medical services to patients.
