KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: The Ministry of Health has extended the exemption for Bedouns, whose security cards have expired, from paying health services fees in public hospitals and health centers until the end of December, reports Al-Jarida daily. In its directive, the ministry pointed out the abovementioned decision is a humanitarian consideration for Bedouns in order to give them enough time to renew their security cards provided they visit the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) to process the renewal of their cards.

The ministry stressed the need to instruct the concerned personnel in public hospitals and health centers to implement the exemption, as long as the Bedouns with expired security cards present their identification papers along with the expired card. Also, all holders of cards approved by the CSRSIR are exempted from the treatment fees.
